Michelle Obama tonight becomes the only First Lady in history to keynote the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's annual Phoenix Awards Dinner. There will be a livestream here of Mrs. Obama's remarks, scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM ET. Mrs. Obama, a former CBC spouse, will speak to than 3,000 guests gathered for the 42nd black-tie affair at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Click here for more about the dinner.
President Obama delivered the keynote address at last year's dinner, as well as in 2009 and in 2010. The President will not attend tonight's dinner; he is campaigning in Wisconsin today, with a rally and two fundraisers in Milwaukee, where he will be joined by Hall of Famer Hank Aaron. The President returns home this evening.
