Contest closes at midnight tonight...
The deadline to enter the sixth and final Dinner with Barack contest is tonight at midnight, and First Lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday sent another email calling for entries, announcing a two-for-one deal to dine with President Obama.

"Today only, each entry counts as two," Mrs. Obama wrote.  "This is your last chance to be part of one of these dinners, so I hope you'll give it a shot."

The very popular First Lady has not been announced as a dinner guest, though she appears on the campaign's graphic logo.  The push for donations to select the Eater in Chief's three dinner winners has included sending supporters daily emails, two videos, and two different seating charts for the dinner. The President, Mrs. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have all sent emails, as have campaign aides. The donation page is here.

The winners will pay taxes on the $1,600 assigned retail value of the prize package, which includes a one-night hotel stay and coach-class airfare.  Winners must also pass background checks and agree to be used throughout all eternity in campaign promotions. Each can bring a guest.

There's an alternate "free" entry page for the dinner contest that's required by law, but no winner has gotten a seat at any of the President's dinners without dropping cash into his war chest.  A campaign official admitted last week that the org doesn't actually care if *you* are one of the three winners--the President just wants your money.

Mrs. Obama wrote:

Barack and I wouldn't be where we are today without you.

Your support is what's building this campaign.

To say thank you, Barack is holding one last dinner with supporters before Election Day. And I hope you’ll be there.

If you chip in whatever you can, you'll be automatically entered for a chance to take part in this campaign tradition. Today only, each entry counts as two.

These dinners have been a staple of both of Barack's campaigns—he had the first one back in 2007.

This is your last chance to be part of one of these dinners, so I hope you'll give it a shot.

Thank you for all you're doing.

Michelle

P.S. And don't forget, we'll take care of airfare and accommodations. Just make sure you enter before midnight.
