Bribe your friends: "Whoever you bring as your guest is going to owe you for a long, long time," Deputy Campaign Manager tells donors...Obama for America Deputy Campaign Manager Julianna Smoot on Monday emailed supporters a second seating chart for the sixth and final Dinner with Barack contest. Smoot, President Obama's former White House Social Secretary, had emailed a scribbled seating chart over the weekend. The new graphic is part of the push for entries for the contest, which closes on Tuesday. Smoot advised donors that they'll be flooded with friends if they win. The three winners are each allowed to bring a guest.
"If you win this, you're going to have a lot more friends all of a sudden," Smoot wrote with a request for $5. "Just remember, whoever you bring as your guest is going to owe you for a long, long time."
For the 2011 'Dinner with Barack and Michelle' contest, Smoot also emailed supporters this ultra-fancy seating chart.
Obama for America earlier in the day released a new dinner contest video, the second for this contest, as well as sent more emails. Winners will pay taxes on the $1,600 assigned retail value of the prize package, which includes a one-night hotel stay and coach-class airfare. Winners must also pass background checks and agree to be used throughout all eternity in campaign promotions.
There's an alternate "free" entry page for the dinner contest that's required by law, but no winner has gotten a seat at any of the President's dinners without dropping cash into his war chest. A campaign official admitted last week that the org doesn't actually care if *you* are one of the three winners--the President just wants your money.
