Will a romantic dinner in DC follow the President's day trip to Georgia and State of the Union Fireside Hangout?...
UPDATE, 1:32 PM:  The President discusses his plans
The White House hasn't said if President Obama will be taking First Lady Michelle Obama out for a Valentine's dinner this evening after he returns from a day trip to Decatur, Georgia--but private dining excursions are never listed on the President's official daily schedule.  And though they've had numerous romantic dinners since moving into the White House--including celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary at Georgetown's Bourbon Steak restaurant--the First Couple has only actually dined out once on Valentine's Day since arriving in Washington.

That was last year, when the President treated his wife to steak and lobster at Vermilion Restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia.  The farm-to-table date night came after the President doled out romantic advice earlier in the day to White House guests, advising them "do not forget" America's couples-only holiday and to "go big."

In Decatur today, Mr. Obama will promote education initiatives announced in his State of the Union Address.  After arriving in Georgia at 11:30 AM ET, the President  is scheduled to visit a pre-k classroom at College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center at 12:10 PM.  Then he'll deliver remarks at the Decatur Community Recreation Center at 1:20 PM.

The President is scheduled to return to the White House at 4:25 PM, and minutes later, at 4:50 PM, he will hold a digital "Fireside Hangout" from the Roosevelt Room on Google+, YouTube and WhiteHouse.gov as another SOTU follow-up.

That leaves plenty of time to wine and dine Mrs. Obama, but arguing against a Valentine's Dinner out in DC:  On Friday, the President will travel first to Chicago for another SOTU follow-up, and then to West Palm Beach, Florida, for a President's Day weekend vacation.  The First Lovebirds often enjoy belated celebrations, and seaside dining is perhaps in their future.  The President has no public events scheduled over the weekend, the White House said.

The President and Mrs. Obama last dined out to celebrate her 49th birthday on Jan. 17, visiting Georgetown's Cafe Milano restaurant for an Italian feast with friends.
