President Obama will host his annual reception for LGBT Pride Month in the East Room on Friday evening at 5:10 PM. It will be an extra-special celebration, thanks to the President announcing in May that he personally supports same-sex marriage. Between 300 and 400 guests are expected.
California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom Tweeted today that he will attend: "On my way to way to White House to celebrate LGBT Pride with @barackobama. 2012 good year for #marriage equality #gaymarriage," Neswom wrote.
Mr. Obama has a special campaign effort devoted to the LGBT community, "LGBT for Obama." There's just one bit of foodie swag being sold by Obama for America to show pride: The can holder, above. Made in the USA, it's available for $10.
"Our LGBT for Obama Can Holder is a fun way to make a statement the next time you need to keep your drink cold," notes BarackObama.com.
Vice President Joe Biden has his own can holder, too. It's a big %$#@!! deal.
